Appearance First of all, everyone is swayed by appearances, and this includes Recruiters and Hiring Managers. Appearances matter very much, and this is one thing you, as the candidate, are in complete control of. That is why you need to show up looking like the right candidate, and if you do, all you'll need to do is talk yourself into the job. However, if you show up not looking like "the candidate," you now have to change the interviewer's mind, which is a much harder challenge. As someone who has been on the interviewing board, I can tell you that for most people I interviewed who didn't get the job, I could tell within the first 5 minutes that they weren't fit. 1.  Courage / Persuasion : This is your power to increase your determination to get the job done when faced with resistance or a problematic situation. Show the skill to move people towards a commitment to buy or act. Demonstrate that you are fair and pleasant and show that you are aggressive and may sometimes pressurize  others. Don't be passable. Demonstrate confidence and that you are not merely intimidated. Demonstrate the will to influence the thinking of others. Indicate that you can gain agreement from others via logic, alternatives, and emotional appeals.  Ethics /Beliefs:  This is your capacity to believe fully in what you do and emphasize service. Show LOYALTY so that the Hiring Manager knows that you won't quit after three months or leave your clients hanging and without information.   Behavioral Interview Though an employer might not have told you that you will be involved in a " Behavior-Based," Behavioral, or "Situational" Interview, you are still likely to face "Behavioral Interview" style questions. In a Traditional Interview, you can usually get away with somewhat vague and general answers or inform the interviewer what you think he or she would want to hear. Traditional Interview questions ask you basic questions such as "Tell me a little bit about yourself."  Behavioral Interviewing is much more difficult.
